Venue & event technology - Brisbane, Australia

Built for show day.

Your name is on the opening. Signl-8 is the independent specialist on your side of the table, making sure the venue you're building, and the events you run in it, hold up when the whole city walks in.

350+Builds in a decade

We've stood where you're about to stand - Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, Splendour in the Grass, Vivid Sydney, Google, Samsung, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and on Australia's remote-infrastructure frontier.

What we do

One promise. Four disciplines.

For the people whose name is on the outcome - the owner signing off the build, the director carrying the program, the producer standing in the compound at gates, the creative team promising a moment people will queue for. The promise doesn't change: it works with a full house in.

VenuesVenue technology design & advisory

Be the owner whose venue just works. We write the brief, review what contractors and carriers propose, and make sure opening night is remembered for the atmosphere, not the outages.

  • High-density WiFi design
  • DAS & in-building cellular strategy
  • Wayfinding & digital signage
  • Owner's technical representative

EventsEvent & overlay networks

Temporary, event-grade connectivity that performs under broadcast pressure and full crowds, designed, deployed and operated through the show.

  • Event network design & build
  • WAN bonding & broadcast links
  • Production comms
  • Show-day operations

ExperiencesExperiential & interactive technology

Be the moment people queue for. We design and deliver the technology inside the experience, and the infrastructure that keeps it alive in public, in a crowd, all day. From a sculpture that pulsed with visitors' heartbeats to a fan-controlled camera couch at full speed.

  • AI-driven & generative activations
  • Reactive spaces - RFID, sensors, tracking
  • XR & immersive installations
  • Audience co-creation & live interactivity

ResilienceResilience engineering

Redundancy, failover and disaster-grade communications woven into every design, because the network that matters most is the one still up when everything else isn't.

  • Network resilience audits
  • LEO / hybrid WAN design
  • Onsite, AI & after-hours support
  • Emergency communications

The decade ahead

Queensland is building venues for a generation. The technology decisions are being made now.

Seventeen new and upgraded venues are being delivered for Brisbane 2032, and around them, a wave of hotels, precincts and entertainment developments. The people who get these technology decisions right will open venues that host the decade. The ones who don't will explain the outages. The difference is decided now, in the brief, not on opening night.

Who you're working with

Engineering firms spec networks from a desk. We've stood in the compound when 50,000 people arrived.

Signl-8 is led by Matt Hall, a decade and 350+ builds across live events, broadcast, sport and brand activations, and years delivering remote connectivity infrastructure across Australia. The rare combination: fluent in a design meeting, a tender response, and a muddy site compound.

Get in touch

Planning a venue. Running an event. Either way, start early.

The cheapest time to fix a network is before it's built. Thirty minutes, free, and you'll leave with the questions to ask your contractors and carriers, whether or not you ever hire us.
